Interior design and home wares
Platane is a Shanghai store offering French style interior design and home ware products with locations on Wukang Lu and in Tianzifang. We were asked to tackle their branding, website and newsletter.
We wanted the brand to strike a balance between a slightly retro feel and a stylish, contemporary approach. The company is named after the platane tree, which is native to the Shanghai area – this is where we first looked for our inspiration. The website’s homepage shows a tree containing a number of icons – by clicking on these icons, customers can journey further and further in to the tree itself to find the products that they want. The design communicates the modern yet classic feel of the brand, while the uniquely responsive and interactive web design pushes customers to travel further in to the heart of the tree – and the company – browsing as many of the products available as possible.
